Blake Poetry Prize

Leichhardt Council is proud to support the Blake Poetry Prize, presented by the NSW Writers’ Centre in partnership with the Blake Society.

The Blake Poetry Prize, named after the visionary poet and artist William Blake, is a non-sectarian award encouraging Australian poets to engage in the dialogue between religion, spirituality and poetry in a new work of up to 100 lines. The winning poet will receive $5,000.

The Leichhardt community is committed to supporting innovation and excellence in the arts, and this national prize creates an opportunity for new work in the field.

The NSW Writers’ Centre exists to promote writing-based culture and the rights and interests of writers in NSW. The Centre provides a dynamic program of activities each year including workshops, seminars, festivals and competitions. www.nswwriterscentre.org.au
