Car Share Parking
Council has introduced a number of on-street and off-street ‘Car Share’ parking spaces in the municipality. A ‘Car Share’ facility provides the community a cheaper option to utilise a vehicle without owning it. The primary advantage of this facility is that you do not need to pay mechanical bills, car insurance and registration costs and most importantly you do not need an off-street parking space.
The ‘Car Share’ facility in the municipality is currently operated by a company called ‘GoGet’. Any changes to the ‘Car Share’ operator will be posted on the Council website in the future.
Once you become a member of the ‘Car Share’ service provider, you can simply book a car online or via phone for a little as an hour, or for longer. After the journey, you will need to bring the car back to the same ‘Car Share’ parking space. At the end of each month you will receive an itemised account from the operator for exactly what you used.

Leichhardt
- In Marion Street carpark, Leichhardt (2 spaces)
Annandale
- Corner of Annandale Street and Booth Street
- In Johnston Street (between Albion Street and Reserve Street)
- Nelson Street (between Booth Street and Rose Street)
- Corner of Trafalgar Street and Collins Street
Balmain
- In Llewellyn Street (between Montague Street and Jacques Street) (2 spaces)
- In Wortley Street (between Ennis Street and Davidson Street)
Rozelle
- In Waterloo Street carpark (2 spaces)
- In Merton Street carpark (2 spaces)
- In Thornton Street (1 space)
Some the above ‘Car Share’ parking spaces have the following sign to indicate that the parking space is exclusively for Council authorised ‘Car Share’ vehicles.
