Fire Safety Certificates

(formerly referred to as a Form 15 under old legislation)

A Final Fire Safety Certificate is only applicable in the following instances:

  • It must be provided to Council before a Final Occupation Certificate can be issued for a building under clause 153(1) of the Environmental Planning & Assessment Regulation, and
  • It must be provided to Council if a Fire Safety Order has been issued in relation to a building or premises.

A copy of the Fire Safety Certificate is also to be forwarded to the NSW Fire Brigades, and a copy must be kept on-site in a prominent location within the building. The correct statutory version of a Fire Safety Certificate is available at Council as a blank  Fire Safety Certificate Form - 28 KB that may be used for the above purpose. This form can be collected in person from Council, or may be downloaded from this website.
