WaterRight Gardens Web Tool
An online tool has been developed to help households learn more about their garden and its watering needs. This online resource can tell Sydney residents how often and how much to water, as well as when to stop watering because of rainfall or seasonal weather changes. It includes postcode-specific advice and popular plants species, and can determine the specific watering needs for different parts of their garden, depending on its plants and soil, wind and shade conditions. It shows residents how to maintain a healthy garden whilst avoiding wasteful and unnecessary watering.
The website can also be used to help design water efficient gardens, through an informative series of fact sheets and guidelines. The web tool can be accessed here.
Sydney Water's WaterFix Program
WaterFix is a program offered by SydneyWater to help households save water and money by installing water-efficient showerheads and and flow regulators. Landlords must install these water-saving measures in order to pass on water-use charges to tenants. For further information, see the WaterFix website.
