MAINTAINING ASSETS, ROADS AND FOOTPATHS
-The majority of revenue from parking meters and infringements goes directly to maintaining basic infrastructure such as roads, drains, footpaths and sea walls.
-More than $6,000,000 spent on Mainstreet upgrades to the shopping precincts in Balmain, Rozelle and Leichhardt as well as Parramatta Road, Annandale;
-Doubling of expenditure on road resheeting with nearly 30,000m2 being undertaken per annum;
-Detailed analysis of drainage system near complete with increased expenditure for repair of old earthenware pipelines existing throughout the Municipality;
-Increased expenditure on footpaths to $2,300,000 resulting in an extra 3000m2 of footpath refurbishments;
-Dedicated Inspector and repair crew to detect and remove tripping hazards on footpaths and update Asset management system;
-Continued maintenance and repair of the 5.1km of seawalls along the waterfront of Leichhardt Municipality.
