State of the Environment Report (SOE)

JPEGState of the Environment Reports provide an annual snapshot of local environmental conditions in Leichhardt. The reports are submitted annually to the NSW Department of Local Government as part of Council's formal reporting obligations. The reports cover land, air and greenhouse, water, biodiversity, waste, noise, heritage and social issues.

Where possible key performance indicators have been selected that track progress towards or away from better environmental outcomes. These indicators highlight both to Council itself and the community where we need to focus our efforts to achieve environmental improvement. The State of the Environment Reports also document what the Council has done in the past year, and what we plan to do in the future, to improve the environment.

Leichhardt Council has been producing State of the Environment Reports since 1994. Electronic copies of the most recent year's reports can be accessed here by following the links below. Hard copies can be obtained by contacting Council on (02) 9367 9030. Copies of all previous reports are held at Leichhardt and Balmain Libraries.
