Tree Removal Notices

Removal of trees is seen as the last option but unfortunately this is, in a number of instances the only option. Where this is the case, Council will replace the tree, where possible, with a more suitable species, selected from the Street Tree Masterplan, in a more suitable location.

Any tree that is identified for removal will have a notice affixed to the tree and concerned persons can contact Council and discuss the matter prior to the tree being removed.

Residents who have concerns with street trees can contact the Parks & Streetscapes section and a qualified person will meet with them on-site to discuss options.

All street trees are uplift pruned to provide unimpaired access to the footpath. This work is carried out by Council's dedicated 2 person tree crew or Area Based teams as part of their regular street maintenance works.
